Dr. McDonald received an LSU Board of Supervisors Scholarship to attend medical school. During his medical training he was voted Intern of the Year and House Officer of the Year. He also received the Joseph E. Loewenstein House Officer Teaching Award and was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He was Chief Fellow while at serving his fellowship at LSUHSC.
Dr. McDonald served as an internal medicine hospitalist prior to joining the staff at Willis-Knighton Cancer Center.
