Breast MRI

MRI – Magnetic Resonance Imaging

This highly sensitive technology uses powerful magnets and radio waves and involves the use of a dye to help the radiologist identify any abnormalities in your breast tissue.

This technology is particularly useful for women who have a high risk of breast cancer, especially those with BRCA1 or BRCA1 genetic mutations. It is also ordered for women who have previously had breast tumors removed.

This is a very advanced procedure and the most expensive of these breast imaging options. Because there is a compelling reason for this procedure, it is often paid for by insurance.
