Willis-Knighton Medical Center offers asleep Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) using the ClearPoint® system, the only surgical platform that provides real-time MRI guidance and immediate visualization to enable a range of minimally invasive procedures in the brain. Traditionally performed while the patient is awake, DBS at Willis-Knighton is performed under anesthesia, providing a high level of comfort for the patient. The MRI suite has been renovated to offer not only highly accurate MRI imaging but a sterile surgical environment. Willis-Knighton Medical Center is the only site in Louisiana and only one of several dozen in the U.S. where DBS is available under anesthesia.
