Progressive Care Center (PCC), a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility on the campus of Willis-Knighton Medical Center, has been awarded a 2013 Louisiana Nursing Home Capstone Quality Award by eQHealth Solutions, the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization for Louisiana. It is one of only 23 nursing homes in the state and only a handful in North Louisiana that received this award.
According to eQHealth, the award recognizes nursing homes for their achievement in proving the quality of resident care through reducing the use of restraints and reducing pressure ulcer incidence. They must also be signed up for Phase 2 of the Advancing Excellence in American’s Nursing Homes program. The PCC staff has worked with quality improvement specialists from eQHealth Solutions to use proven, evidence-based practices to improve care for their residents.
“We are extremely proud to be recognized for the quality of care we offer at PCC,” said Randall Myers, PCC administrator. “We are one of the most experienced and resident-centered skilled nursing facilities in the region, but we recognize that we should always seek ways to improve our services and we are committed to doing so every day.”
