The Joint Replacement Camp is a great educational opportunity for those who are considering or who are already scheduled for a total hip or total knee replacement surgery. Some physicians actually require attendance to the Joint Camp before scheduling your surgery.
This class will better prepare you for surgery and includes a review of the entire hospitalization process from pre-admission to follow up outpatient therapy. Topics include what to do before surgery, what to bring to the hospital, how your pain will be managed, how long you will be in the hospital, discharge options and in general what to expect.
Classes are offered at 9:00 a.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at WK Bossier Health Center in conference room B and on the third Tuesday of each month at WK Pierremont Health Center in conference room 203 on the second floor. Classes are free but do require registration by calling (318) 212-8225.
For those who prefer, an online option of the same educational offering is available here with a copy of the Joint Camp booklet and a series of joint camp videos. Click here to access the online camp.
For questions specific to the surgery process, please contact to your orthopedic surgeon as each physician has his own protocols. For questions regarding the Joint Replacement camp content or schedule you may call (318) 212.4295. To RSVP for a class, please call (318) 212-8225.
