Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Improving the Quality of Life

Pulmonary RehabilitationWillis-Knighton Pulmonary Rehabilitation is an eight to ten-week outpatient program that meets two to three times a week at scheduled times. All medical testing and classes are conducted at two Willis-Knighton Wellness Centers in Shreveport and one in Bossier City. The program offers personal attention, exercise and education. The goal is to help patients with chronic pulmonary disease enjoy more comfortable and satisfying lifestyles. Upon referral by their physicians, patients are taught to:

  • re-train their breathing
  • exercise to increase strength and endurance
  • accurately use prescribed medicines and therapies
  • build strength and increase health through good nutrition
  • relax and control stressful situations
  • reduce dependence on others

Program staff also offer guidance to families about how they can help through positive support.
