Few narratives in the history of human achievement spark as much wonder as the progression of medical science over the course of the past few centuries. Not so long ago mired in bloodletting, symptom chasing heroics and superstition, the medical advances of the modern era have fundamentally changed the way we live our lives.

Established by Willis Knighton Health more than a decade ago, the Talbot Museum seeks to decode the shared human legacy of medical advancement, specifically focusing on the history of medicine in the greater Shreveport-Bossier City region since the close of the American Civil War to the present day.

At the Talbot Museum you can relive the breakthroughs, triumphs and tragedies of the fascinating medical past. Multi-media and traditional exhibitions make it possible to learn the personalities, large and small, who built the tremendous infrastructure that is now taken for granted by patients and clinicians across our world each day. Finally, bring home a better understanding of the unique and proud legacy of Willis Knighton and the shared medical past.
