Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapists (OTs) are health care professionals who treat individuals who have difficulty performing normal daily activities due to orthopedic or neurological conditions. Through the use of adaptive equipment, modalities, splinting, education and home exercise programs, occupational therapists can increase a person’s strength, function and independence.

In outpatient settings, OTs typically work with a wide range of injuries, disease processes and other conditions including:

  • Upper extremity injuries: 
    Hand, wrist or elbow
  • Nerve or tendon injuries
  • Tendonitis:
    Tennis or golfer’s elbow
  • Nerve entrapments:
    Carpel tunnel syndrome
  • Arthritis
  • Joint repair
  • Pediatrics
  • Neurological conditions:
    Stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, Guillian Barre’
