WK Breast Health Center

Brandy Stroud of Shreveport is a breast cancer survivor. A staunch advocate of annual mammograms and monthly self-exams, Stroud discovered a lump which she had not previously detected four months following a routine mammogram. She immediately followed up with the WK Breast Health Center, where new imaging and other tests revealed the lump was not malignant. However, the images revealed another lesion, small but concerning. This one, previously undetected, was breast cancer. Stroud and her physicians immediately took action. She opted to have a lumpectomy followed by radiation therapy at Willis-Knighton Cancer Center. Today, Stroud is cancer-free and credits early detection for her positive outcome. She also gives credit to the skilled and compassionate physicians, surgeons and staff at Willis-Knighton.
