1131 Pediatric Constipation
Purpose
To evaluate the safety and efficacy of Lubiprostone 12 or 24 mcg twice daily compared to placebo.

Study Process
Patients aged 6 - less than 18 years old with a diagnosis of functional constipation (average of less than 2 bowel movements per week. Patient/guardian will keep an electronic diary to record constipation medication used and bowel habits daily. Lab will be required at most visits. Patients that complete the study will have an option to participate in an extension study where placebo is not involved.
