Dr. Black received the Michael E. Burt Memorial Award for Clinical Excellence in Surgery from Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology Merit Award. She also received an American Cancer Society Summer Research Fellowship grant and a research grant from the Society of Surgical Oncology. She received the Lucy Wortham James Research Award during her medical school training. Dr. Black has to her credit numerous publications and presentations. Dr. Black specializes in robotic surgery, and clinical research trials.

Professional Affiliations

She is a member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology, Gynecologic Oncology Group Investigator Council, and the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is the director of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, where she teaches students and residents.
