Willis-Knighton pioneered the development in North Louisiana of a medical center totally devoted to the health needs of women when it opened the Center for Women’s Health at Willis-Knighton South. Today, the Center for Women’s Health provides services at Willis-Knighton South, WK Bossier Health Center and WK Pierremont Health Center, the locations that offer labor and delivery services.
Adjacent to Willis-Knighton South, the original Center for Women’s Health is not only attractive but functional. Mothers are cared for in spacious LDR (labor, delivery, recovery) rooms. Postpartum rooms are beautifully appointed with wood and upholstered furnishings including rocking chairs, television and DVD player. Each bath features a Jacuzzi tub. The Center features a high-risk antepartum unit for mothers who experience complications during pregnancy. The Regional Perinatal Group is located on this campus. High risk obstetrics transport is available 24/7 by calling 1-855-WKS-BABY (1-855-957-2229).
The Center for Women’s Health at Willis-Knighton South is home to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit directed by a board-certified neonatologist. The Level III NICU, opened in 2007, is a 42-bed unit featuring state-of-the-art technology and an expert staff. The family-centered approach to bonding is available with individual rooms, including rooms for multiples.
