Emergency/Urgent Care
Willis-Knighton offers emergency services for life-threatening illnesses and accidents at each of its hospitals and Quick Care Urgent Care Centers for minor illnesses and accidents. (Note: If you are having a life-threatening emergency, do not call the emergency room. Call 9-1-1 or go directly to the nearest emergency room.)
Two Quick Care Urgent Care Centers are available, one in Shreveport and one in Bossier City. These centers are a cost-effective alternative to full-service emergency rooms when the problem is a minor illness or injury. Each is staffed by physicians and experienced urgent care professionals who treat both adults and children.
Typical problems at Quick Care include:
- Cuts and Lacerations
- Infections
- Sprains and Simple Fractures
- Colds and Earaches
- Flu Symptoms
- Minor Burns
- Sports Medicine
Quick Care does not treat life-or limb-threatening emergencies such as shortness of breath, chest pain or symptoms of a possible heart attack.

All Willis-Knighton Health System hospitals offer full-service emergency departments open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Each department is staffed by experienced emergency personnel. In fact, no other area hospital has more emergency physicians who are certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
Willis-Knighton emergency departments are supported by the Willis-Knighton Heart Institute and are ideal locations for the treatment of symptoms of heart attack. Willis-Knighton is known for its commitment to technology and innovation. Our emergency departments have access to the latest imaging and laboratory technology available in the Health System.
Our emergency departments are supported by the Life Air Rescue helicopter which Willis-Knighton Health System operates in a cooperative agreement with another medical center in the area. In addition, five ground transport ambulances are provided for patient transfer, assuring that patients can access the most appropriate Willis-Knighton services no matter which Willis-Knighton emergency department they initially choose.
