Boshra F. Louka, MD, Joins Willis-Knighton Cardiology

Boshra LoukaBoshra F. Louka, MD, FACC, interventional cardiologist, has joined Willis-Knighton Cardiology.

Cole, MD, FACC; William Britton Eaves, II, MD, FACC; Wenwu Zhang, MD, PhD, FACC; Amber M. Shah, MD, MPH; Sai Konduru, MD, MPH; Jagan Beedupalli, MD, MPH, FACC; Michael Langiulli, MD, FACC, and A. Latif Bikak, MD.

Dr. Louka comes to Willis-Knighton from Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he completed a fellowship in interventional cardiology and structural heart disease. Previously, he was chief fellow of cardiovascular diseases at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Scottsdale, Ariz. He earned his medical degree in his native Egypt and completed an internship and residency there before coming to the United States to further his studies. These include an internal medicine residency at NYU Winthrop Hospital in New York, as well as Yale New Haven Health Bridgeport Hospital in Connecticut, where he was named chief resident. He also spent one year studying fundamentals of clinical and translational science at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Minnesota.

As the Willis-Knighton Heart & Vascular Institute continues to innovate and drive world-class cardiovascular care in northwest Louisiana, Dr. Louka’s education, experience and knowledge of the latest advances in interventional and structural cardiology strengthen the program further. “New technologies are ever-evolving,” Dr. Louka says. “Working collaboratively with our cardiovascular surgeons, we determine the best course of treatment for each patient to minimize invasive procedures and to take patients safely to the right spot.”

  Willis-Knighton Cardiology offers a full array of cardiovascular services at offices in Shreveport, Bossier City, Minden, Natchitoches, Vivian, Homer and Ruston, including general cardiology, diagnostic and interventional procedures.  They accept new patients and most insurance plans.
