Jun 05, 2024

Willis Knighton Regional Craniofacial & Cleft Center at Willis Knighton Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery has been approved by the American Cleft Palate Craniofacial Association (ACPA). The approval means the center meets and exceeds the highest standards of care for patients with cleft and craniofacial conditions.

Willis Knighton Regional Craniofacial & Cleft Center is one of 200 approved teams in the United States and Canada with the ACPA designation.

“We look forward to continuing to provide the highest level of care and support for children in the Ark-La-Tex, as well as those children that continue to be referred from across the nation and internationally,” said G.E. Ghali, DDS, MD, team leader. “We are fortunate to have a dedicated multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals who, through collaboration, provide the best possible outcomes for our patients.”

The ACPA team approval verifies that cleft and craniofacial care is provided in a coordinated and consistent manner, follows the proper sequence and takes place within the framework of the patient’s overall developmental, medical and psychological needs. Teams are comprised of experienced and qualified professionals who work in an interdisciplinary and coordinated environment to provide strong and reliable communication between team members, families and referring providers.

Willis Knighton Regional Craniofacial & Cleft Center includes physicians and care providers from oral and maxillofacial surgery, speech and language pathology, orthodontics, neurosurgery, pediatrics and otolaryngology with access to genetics, audiology, pediatric dentistry and other community resources. Patients treated are newborn to age 21.
