Dr. Randy del Mundo is a board-certified internist (American Board of Internal Medicine) who has practiced medicine in the Shreveport-Bossier area since 2002. He earned a bachelor's degree in medical technology followed by a medical degree at  the University of Santo Tomas, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery in Manila, Philippines. He completed both his internship and medical residency in our community at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport. He is also board certified in Hospice and Palliative Care by the American Board of Internal Medicine. 

Dr. is also affiliated with LSU Health Department of Internal Medicine, assisting them with the training of house officers in their Primary Care Track program. He takes on this responsibility as a service to the community. This commitment to lifelong medical learning only demonstrates his continued passion for excellence in patient care.

Involvement in the local medical community keeps is one of his passions. He holds medical directorships and administrative positions in skilled nursing facility, home healthcare, hospice care, and long-term Acute care Hospital. He is a community health educator for the American College of Physicians' Doctors for Adults campaign.

"I have used my clinical encounters with my patients extensively to teach them about their ailments," he says. "Education and engaging the patients and making them more accountable with healthcare yields excellent outcomes."

Dr. del Mundo is a Diplomate in the American Board of Internal Medicine, a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, member of the American Medical Association, Louisiana Medical Society, and the Shreveport Medical Society. He is a recipient of numerous physician recognition awards from the American Medical Association and the Louisiana State Medical Society. He has served as chief medical resident at the LSUHSC and the VA Hospital and was honored as Outstanding Internal Medicine Resident by the Faculty of the Department of Internal Medicine.

His philosophy of his practice has always been to deliver compassionate, competent, and evidence-based medical care. He is an advocate for paitient right as expressed in Patients' Bill of Rights. He is committed to lifelong continuing medical education and believes in treating not only patient but colleagues and other healthcare professionals with respect. 

Dr. del Mundo lives in Shreveport with his wife, Seneca. They have two children, Mike and Vincent.

"I believe in giving back to the Shreveport-Bossier community which has given me and my family so much," he says. Dr. del Mundo supports several local institutions and charities (including St. Joseph School, Caddo Magnet High School and Baylor University). "It is my personal goal to leave this community a little better than when I got here."
