Meet Dr. Ryan Master

A native of Shreveport, Dr. Ryan Master completed his undergraduate studies at Rhodes College in Memphis.  He then earned a master’s degree in pharmacology from Tulane University, with a focus on hypertension and pulmonary hypertension research.  Dr. Master returned to Shreveport for medical school at LSU Health Sciences Center, where he received “the Adrian F. Reed Memorial Award.”  He then completed a residency in internal medicine at UT Southwestern in Dallas, which included Parkland Memorial Hospital and the North Texas VA.  He elected to stay at UT Southwestern for his fellowship in cardiovascular disease, as well as an additional fellowship in interventional cardiology.

Dr. Master returned to Shreveport in private practice in 2016, joining his father, Herbert Master, as a partner at Pierremont Cardiology.  Dr. Master treats adult cardiovascular disease including coronary disease, congestive heart failure, valvular heart disease, and cardiac arrhythmias.   He performs cardiac catheterization and coronary stenting via both femoral (leg) or radial (wrist) arterial approach.  His interests include preventive medicine, complex coronary interventions, peripheral arterial disease, and structural heart disease interventions including transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR).

Dr. Master is a member of the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology.  He and his wife, Stephanie, are parents to two young children.  He enjoys spending time with family, sports, and participating in various outdoor activities.
