Patient Stories

Ruby Champagne

He went through my wrist, which was amazing, instead of having to go through my brain to have it done.

Ruby Champagne’s painful headaches prompted her to go to the Emergency Room at Willis Knighton, where doctors discovered an aneurysm in her brain. Vascular neurosurgeon Dr. Ashish Sonig used the Woven EndoBridge (WEB) Aneurysm Embolization System to insert a catheter through her wrist to reach the aneurysm. The minimally invasive procedure prevented a rupture, and Ruby went home later that day. Dr. Sonig says Ruby is the first patient in Louisiana to be treated with the WEB device and discharged on the same day.
