Kidney/Pancreas Transplantation

Combined kidney/pancreas transplantation is recommended for patients who have kidney failure due to insulin-dependent diabetes. The goal after transplantation is that the kidney will filter and excrete waste products, eliminating the need for dialysis, while the pancreas will produce insulin to control the diabetes.
