Suggestions for Families
Select a family spokesperson to relay information between your family members and those caring for your loved one.
Remember that touch is an important aspect of communication. Simply holding the hand of your loved one can convey caring in a special way.
Leave a contact number with the nurses so we know where family members can be reached incase of an emergency.
Due to limited space in the Critical Care Units, we ask that the patient’s personal belongings be kept by family members until the patient is transferred to a regular floor.
Because of the environment of the Critical Care and the risk of infection, no children under the age of 12 are allowed in the units. This is to protect both the patients and the children.
Please be mindful of other patients in the unit and keep noise to a minimum.
