Pediatrics & NICU Follow up Clinic

Pediatric rehabilitation therapists evaluate newborns, infants and children to determine if any developmental delays are present. If problems are found, an individualized treatment plan is implemented to begin the developmental therapy process.

Rehab therapists work closely with physicians and nurses to coordinate care among the entire team and family. Services are provided in the Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units as well as on the pediatric unit. 

Evaluation and Treatment of the following areas is provided:

  • oral motor
  • feeding
  • positioning
  • orthopedic conditions
  • neurobehavioral

Parent education and case management services are also provided.

Upon discharge, each NICU graduate is scheduled to attend a follow-up program where he or she will be evaluated by a physical therapist, occupational therapist, and speech language pathologist for continued appropriate development.
